Dr. Kenneth MacLeod Rice brings more than 25 years of frontline emergency medicine experience to his collaboration with Garrett Health Services. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University, Corewell Health, and Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP).

His career has centered on emergency and urgent care medicine, including founding and serving as Medical Director of PrimeCare Urgent Care in Cumming, Georgia — later acquired by Piedmont Urgent Care, where he continues to practice as Site Medical Director and physician supervisor for advanced practice providers. He has also held academic appointments, including Associate Clinical Faculty at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.

Dr. Rice collaborates with nurse practitioners at telehealth and urgent care practices across the country, bringing decades of acute-care expertise to NP-led practices like Garrett Health Services. He has served as GHS's collaborating physician since the practice's founding, fulfilling the Collaborative Practice Agreement required for nurse practitioners in Tennessee and overseeing Medical Weight Loss, Acute and Urgent Care, and Hormone services.
